About the Artist

Hi, I’m Deb Sandlin! I have been married to my husband, David, for 48 years this coming August. We have two grown sons and live on a farm in rural Texas where we have grown a number of things over the years but most recently raise cattle. I worked as a teacher and diagnostician in the public school system for 28 years before retiring and pursuing other avenues. I have had a passion for painting for as long as I can remember and have taken lessons through the years. I’ve even had the privilege to study briefly under Robert Warren. A fun fact about me is that I am a descendant of the famous potter- Joseph Royal Tanner who opened the first commercial pottery in Texas in 1842. He is featured in the book Alabama Folk Pottery by Joey Brackner. My passion is oil painting but I also love to quilt. Over the last couple of years I’ve felt God calling me to not only start painting again, but to also begin to sell my pieces, and to share Him through my blog, which you can find linked in the header above.
